This nonfiction book chronicles the life of Paige Barton. Paige was an original member of the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion & Disability Studies’ Consumer Advisory Committee and played an integral role in shaping the Center’s mission, purpose, and early initiatives. Paige was also involved with the Center’s early efforts to support the development of a statewide self-advocacy organization for individuals with developmental disabilities, Speaking Up For Us of Maine (SUFU).  SUFU was and continues to be guided by Paige’s vision and passion. Paige provided leadership, mentoring, and support to early leaders of SUFU and to many individuals across the state of Maine who were inspired by her accomplishments and spirit.

Page’s life, as told in this book by her friend, Dr. JoAnne Putnam, truly embodies the spirit and intent of the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion & Disability Studies.
