“Chasing the Rabbit” Author to Present at UMaine

Derek Volk, the author of “Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad’s Life Raising a Son on the Spectrum,” will be on the University of Maine campus offering a free presentation open to the UMaine and local communities. On Friday, April 27th at 6:30 p.m., Mr. Volk will be sharing his story of the challenges and triumphs of raising a child on the autism spectrum. The presentation is open to all who are interested, including parents and caregivers, students, educators, and professionals who work with, or plan to work with, persons on the autism spectrum. Mr. Volk is a national speaker and presents with a unique blend of honesty, humor, and encouragement.

Copies of “Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad’s Life Raising a Son on the Spectrum” will be available for purchase.  Additional information about Derek Volk and his book can be found at the Chasing the Rabbit website.

This presentation is being co-hosted by the Maine Autism Institute for Education and Research (MAIER) and the Student Accessibility Services at UMaine. The event is free and open to the public, however, registration is kindly requested.
