Kimberly Davis received her BS in occupational therapy from the University of New England in 1991, and her MS in occupational therapy from the University of New Hampshire in 1998. Kim’s doctoral work was completed at Rocky Mountain University in 2005. Her primary interests are in psychiatric occupational therapy and management having started as an entry-level therapist and moving up into management over a course of 11 years. During this time she lead her department of 13 to provide in and outpatient occupational therapy services with psychiatric and substance abuse clients across the lifespan. Currently, she holds a full-time faculty position as Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at Husson University.  Her primary responsibilities include teaching foundational content including ethics and professional responsibility for advocacy and the impact of legislative issues that affect occupational therapy clients. She also is responsible for all mental health content in the program. She has recently begun to participate in student research projects mentoring them in the process from question to presentation including IRB submission. In addition to her faculty position, she contracts with Mountain View Youth Development Center in Charleston, Maine where she provides assessment and evaluation for juveniles through a grant funded by the Department of Education. Her work at Mountain View provides each students team with information about learning abilities, sensory processing, and needs for learning skills related to independent living to assist with transition back to community and independent living. She also provides per diem work therapy with older adults for several companies in local rehabilitation facilities.

In the past, she was a member of the Advisory Boards for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Kennebec Valley Community College and ESM of Maine located in Augusta. She is also actively involved in the state and national occupational therapy associations holding a number of roles including the Maine Occupational Therapy Association Newsletter Editor, Membership Chair, and the Maine Representative to the American Occupational Therapy Association.
