Jenessa Grant

Discipline: Communication Sciences and Disorders

About:

I graduated from of the University of Maine this past spring with a B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and a Disability Studies minor. While in school I was involved with the Best Buddies Chapter and the National Speech Language and Hearing Association. I served as a chapter officer in Best Buddies which gave me experience in planning and coordinating community events and advocacy activities. Best Buddies, as well as my experience working as a Direct Support Professional, have broadened my experience working with people with developmental disabilities and taught me to be a leader and good role model. My long term goal is to get a Master’s degree in CSD and become a Speech Language Pathologist. I am interested in learning how to best serve individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families.
