North East Advocates Together (NEAT) Peer-to-Peer Technical Assistance Project

Abstract:
North East Advocates Together (NEAT) is an affiliation of six state self-advocacy organizations, which has been awarded a three-year grant (October 1, 2013 to September 30, 2016) from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, for a Peer-to-Peer Connections Technical Assistance Project. The six state self-advocacy groups collaborating on the grant include the following: Maine (Speaking Up For Us of Maine); Massachusetts (Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong); New Hampshire (People First of New Hampshire); New York (Self Advocacy Association of New York State); Rhode Island (Advocates in Action Rhode Island, Inc.); and Vermont (Green Mountain Self-Advocates). Each state has four individuals; three self-advocates and one Developmental Disabilities Network ally (University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, State Protection & Advocacy agency, or State Developmental Disabilities Council) serving on the NEAT Advisory Committee.
