Putting the Pieces Together When Everything Falls Apart: Reflections on Situations of Challenging Behavior
Published: 2015-04-16
Abstract:
Presented at the 2015 New England Head Start Annual Spring Conference in Rockport, ME on April 16, 2015. This workshop facilitated exploration of the many facets of preventing and responding to situations of challenging behavior in the classroom. Participants were thinking and talking, examining and sharing, collaborating and considering along with the facilitators in this lively verbal and visual dialogue. Even though this session could only provide a small sample of a much bigger process, participants left with a wider view and deeper appreciation of the variables that factor into situations of challenging behavior. As a take away, participants received templates to continue this work back in their own programs with the rest of their colleagues and families of the children who they care for.
