Call for Submissions: Maine Developmental Disabilities Council Inclusion Awards

The Maine Developmental Disabilities Council (MDDC) recently announced the MDDC Inclusion Awards, a creative writing contest on the topic of inclusion, open to Maine high school students in the 11th and 12th grades. The Awards provide monetary prizes to schools, teachers, and high school students who demonstrate an exceptional concept of a world in which all people are valued members of the community. The creative writing contest asks students to develop creative writing pieces answering the questions:

How has the American with Disabilities Act not yet been fully realized for people with Developmental Disabilities? If the ADA was fully implemented, how might the world look differently for people with Developmental Disabilities?

The entry deadline is December 15, 2015. For full contest details or to download an entry form, please visit the Maine DD Council’s web page here.
