ME Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired Seeking Graduates for Orientation and Mobility Instructor Positions

Maine Department of Labor, Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired.January 31, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to let you know about the exciting opportunities available currently in Maine for two Orientation and Mobility Instructor positions and we would appreciate your help in spreading the word about these to your graduates.  We are presently seeking students that are interested in gaining their Orientation and Mobility Certification to fill these positions and we anticipate several other openings in the upcoming years due to retirements.  We would be happy to help learners in obtaining this certification through several graduate programs offering RSA grants and free schooling.

We are reaching out to see if you have any individuals that may be interested in working in the beautiful state of Maine. We are a friendly, outgoing group with varied specialties that collaborates well together, and we are looking to find new members to complete our team!

These are itinerant, State of Maine positions that cover a variety of environments and populations, ranging from rural to urban settings and clients/students in the full age spectrum. We want O&M Specialists to know that Maine is a fabulous place to work and live and have attached some of the highlights of our special state (including 2 videos), along with the benefits of the position. We look forward to hearing from you.
