March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Each March, the Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month social media campaign seeks to raise awareness about the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life, as well as awareness of the barriers that people with disabilities still sometimes face in connecting to the communities in which they live. This year’s artwork was created by artist Eileen Schofield from the Washington, DC studio, Art Enables.

The Developmental Disabilities Network consists of three partners in each state and territory authorized under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (the DD Act) and administered by the Administration on Disabilities (AOD): State Developmental Disabilities Councils (DD Councils), State Protection and Advocacy Systems (P&As) and University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs).
