About:
I am currently Executive Director of Broadreach Family & Community Services in Belfast, Maine. Broadreach is a private nonprofit community based agency that offers behavioral health services, inclusive early care and education, youth and prevention programs in the Mid-Coast area. My career and personal journey has always been guided and inspired by my youngest sister who has Down Syndrome and is an integral part of my life. I began my career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a Massachusetts school system and then in California working with young children with developmental disabilities and their families. I moved back to New England in the mid-80’s and continued schooling in early childhood special education. I received an M.S. at Wheelock College and am a Licensed Social Worker in Maine. I have had the unique and valued opportunity to work in varied settings and communities serving young children, youth and adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Through thirty years of professional experience I have been strongly committed to building collaborative and inclusive communities to meet the needs of all children and families, while always striving to develop new and innovative culturally sensitive programs.
